I'm left confused, what is old fashioned about the originals and what is the difference between those and modern ones?

+1 for the HQ blades. Easy fit and quiet. |

The old blades were worn out and all the joints were loose that’s why they were noisy. They thumped at top and bottom of travel. I have found it difficult to get original replacements or even after market ones as none of the spares shops list for L322. And the refills don’t fit. Windscreen is new. Rubber part of blade is new but frame is old. Amazon in oz is crap. Last time I enquired at my local LR dealer there were none showing in stock in the state of Victoria and would be 2 days from NSW. Supply may be easier in Europe but it’s a bit different here in Australia. I just happened to have a set of arms and blades from a VW and modified my arms to fit the blades. As these blades are available at all motor spares places. HQ blades in Oz refer to an old Holden ( old Vauxhall/Opel Carlton) certainly won’t fit L322. |

This was discussed a few years ago. Fitted some Continental ones to my TD6 at the time. Done the same to my TDV8.

I had no problem getting new replacement units from my local LR indie. I'll have a look for the part no. For the rear, see my posts in this thread: https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic58527.html (scroll down the page). They work very well. I noticed the indie had your style of blade in stock for another model LR. The next time I'm there, I'll have a look at them. Ron B. In the interest of completeness, I had originally picked up the wider version of these which do not fit as flush with original blades, so if taking this on made sure you get the narrow version. They look identical with the square button but one is narrower than the other. Sorry I can't remember which car it came from in the end as it was a box of them at the wreckers. |
