Ended up taking what I could out (lots) then cutting the carpet at the back where no one sees it Current stable:

I bought a smokers car with the sand colour carpets and there are stains everywhere. I have found a local wreck with all black carpets which will look much better. I bought it without being able to inspect it so trying to make the best of a bad decision. All the bodywork is good and the colour body colour is my wife's favourite... Just need to get the interior up to scratch |

I don’t think I needed to the carpet is split above them and the accelerator is just a plug iirc
