My 2010MY Tdv8 gets similar to Fox all the time and on the one long motorway haul it has done since August I got from LPR's front yard to my drive (450 miles+) on just short of 3/4 of a tank and just short of 30mpg on that delivery run. Even local driving with no rush hour city driving I was averaging 29-30mpg up until I came away. My TDv8 RRS used to manage 27/28 mpg (on brimmed tank to brimmed tank measurement not the trip computer) in local driving and better than 30mpg on a long run - best ever in it was 35mpg but the FFRR has yet to get anywhere near that - maybe if I fuel up at Gaydon and take it easy on the run down the M40 to London in April I mght if I am very careful and light footed manage to crack 34mpg! 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |

No, I don't believe in remapping cars generally. Just drive everywhere at 65 mph where you can and avoid any heavy braking. On my Defender I had for 2 years and 57,000 miles it was still on the original brake pads! |

The whine of a supercharged as it hits about 4mpg on a full assault can be so, so addictive though... I think it'd be cheaper to smoke crack!! LOL!! |

525 miles from the latest tank (new record for my FFRR). And thats driving steady. Averaging 24ish mpg. Not exactly great. Its amazing the difference in ecomony from one car to to next. Some people getting 28-30 with their TD6, others only 20-21. FFRR TD6 HSE

I was surprised when i took a 4.4 TDV8 out the other week. I reset the trip and did a good few miles at 30mpg, then on the way home i took my TD6 the same route, reset the trip, and only got 24mpg.

The 8 speed gearbox does the newer cars loads of favours on steady journeys. You can cruise along doing 70mph at about 1500rpm. At the same speed in a TD6 you're talking 2500rpm. FFRR TD6 HSE Adriatic Blue with Parchment leather. |

Just had a few days in the Cotswolds, tanked my TDV8 at start and on return trip computer said 29.1 mpg over the 457 mile trip. only managed another 20 miles before fuel light came on with a remaining range of 50 miles. As the tank is supposed to hold 23 gallons thers something wrong somewhere. Anybody know what the usable tank capacity is, i would quess at 22 gallons. The only way to have a true reading would be to tank but couldn't afford would need a mortgage for that .

Thought I'd reply to this again since when I posted before, I had the 4.4 with LPG, was struggling to get 200 miles out of a tank of gas. Now in the 4.2 S/C, I'm getting 220 miles, and I'm driving it much harder than I drove the 4.4 (can't help it!).

It's 102 litres according to Land Rover, plus whatever you can get in the filler tube. I once ran mine to a range of 0, then got 102.something litres in it. |

My remapped TD6 managed about 27 maximum on long runs on cruise (through france etc) but generally was 25mpg and about 500 per tank at the most.

Speaking with my mate last night who has a 2010 TDV8 (4.4 litre) and he is averaging 27.4mpg, knowing him like I do I can assure you he does not hang around. Just goes to show how things have developed over the past 8 or so years as my TD6 (3.0 litre) does a similar mpg but only if driven very carefully. |

The 4.4 TDV8 has a combined consumption figure about 5 higher than the Td6/old TDV8.
