To add to the list, in my 4.4 V8 I get 18mpg around london - and was incredibly chuffed when I managd 32mpg on the motorway (albiet with the aircon off) at a steady 70mph (I've a photo to prove it!) - but usually I get around 25mpg on the motorway.

It's too easy to get caught up in mpg figures, a friend of mine recently bought a BMW 335 - by no means a 'mental sports car', but is selling it on because it refuses to do more than 17mpg around town with gentle driving.

If you fancy a wince, my 911 turbo clicks along at 7mpg in central london heavy traffic!

Don't know what year you've got, as it's not under you avatar... but 06 model onwards doesn't lower at motorway speeds anyway.

But app it does drop by 20mm at speeds in excess of 100mph held for more than 5secs. Ian

United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover HSE Td6 Adriatic Blue

Hi all

Just thought I would update that the most miles I have got from a full tank is 480, and that was driving very steady on longer journeys. I reckon a visit to JE is needed in the next few months to get that above 500. FFRR TD6 HSE

Average 23mpg Yawn in TDV8.

I can get the average up to 25 / 26 on motorway's, but then a week pottering to work & back and its back to 23.

Looking at getting it chipped to see if I can gain a couple of MPG, as currently spending £150 per week on fuel, with a 10% saving on fuel, it funds the cost of chipping in less than a year.

Perhaps I should just accept I've a heavy right foot !!

Anyone else with a TDV8 ?

Is it just that me & Fox are at opposite ends of the spectrum or have I a problem with my car ? Paul

TD6 - consistently averaging 19.5mpg for the last few tanks. Mainly busy town/commuting (8 miles each way/45 mins)
