I’d be worried about someone catching the sidesteps and doing some damage, they would be expensive to replace

Interesting, today parked up near the local forest to exercise the family and the dog, and I was parked on a sideways incline.

There is No button on MY18 L405 they operate automatically only on door opening and closing, its a software improvement maybe to be able to manually deploy them. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue |

Thats correct Stan, I came across it in mine. They stay out until you lock the car then they revert. ------------------------------------------

I’m sure there is a way of putting the steps into roof access mode, I use it when I go to the car wash to stop them going in and out all the time. Go to your side steps menu and select the mode. I’m sure you have to have the suspension dropped and be in park. Now open the drivers door and select the mode. Both steps will come out and stay out when you close the door. I’m sure the mode will turn off once you raise the car or select drive. 2008 RRS HST - loved the car from 6 months old until a few years old 2009 Disco HSE - nice and practical alternative when I needed the space. Interestingly, I have the fixed steps on mine and I have never caught anything on them or damaged them in any way. They do act as a buffer against car doors banging into mine! |
