After my recent Wanted post, I managed to snag a used genuine LR/Westfalia towbar recently, but it doesn't have the mount plate for the electric socket. Because it's a detachable, I can't use the standard plate which bolts behind the towball so I need to find the right one. I presume in the attached pics that it bolts onto the two bolts show, which are at approx 20mm centres (although it looks much more in the pics for some reason!).

Does anyone know what the proper plate looks like and where I can find one? Failing that I guess I could buy the towball type and hack it to fit but I'd prefer the correct one!

Just buy a generic plate and drill it to suit. Plenty come up on a Google search.  Bish.

Here's the bracket in the picture of the whole wiring kit like I have on my USA model. The one for your car in the UK may be different.

Here's a parts diagram from a European site that may show what you need. You'll need to take the number for the part (I think that's called the, "call out number") and Google for it. For example, I would Google for, "Land Rover 945509A" and look for a parts site that then lists the part number for that part. Then you can search for someplace that can get you the part!

You'll of course need to find what is the correct bracket for your connector. I'm guessing the UK will be different than here in the USA.

Quick update: Rob at Duckworths cross-referenced the part number and I have one on order for a whole £6-ish!  5.0 S/C Autobiography - now gone to pastures new....
