Hi Steve, yes the wiring plug does leak, it has an O ring on it and its not uncommon to spring a leak. They’re not difficult to change and are usually done with a gearbox service as the plastic sump has to come off, I’m sure there is some stuff in the wiki on how to tackle them. |

I'm pretty sure the locking mechanism is inside the gearbox so you have no option but to drop the pan. I remember the sleeve being a bit of a battle to get installed and resorting to a length of wood as a lever to encourage it. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

The 2007 car I’ve just purchased is damp in the same area so I’ve bought the sleeve and a few other bits to do when I change the oil and filter in the gearbox. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather
