It won’t do anything as uncivilised as blow loads of air at you 🤣..... seriously though, if it’s cold and you select hot air, it won’t blow anything until the water warms up, as it will be blowing cold air at you.

If I leave mine on auto, it doesn’t really get warm in the cabin even after 20 mins or so. Have to manually put the blowers on to get any real heat 🤷♂️ |

Thanks guys, that sort of confirms how mine works! The blower is rather timid compared to some, maybe it's as you say " civilised" on my XJ if on Auto it kicks in when cold and gets warm pretty quick, as you both say in the RR on Auto you wait for ages to get warm, never used my heated seats of heated steering wheel so much 😂 2009 Range Rover Vogue 3.6TDV8, Bournville, Parchment/Navy

Make sure that you have the recirculate button pushed at least once, otherwise it will let the cold outside air in.

RC et all, a couple of things to consider here; the majority of RRs are diesel, and diesel takes a whole lot longer to warm up than petrol, and also diesel runs cooler than petrol meaning there is less heat energy to go around. The heater system is obviously designed with this in mind, but diesels always take longer to warm up. The second point is of course the interior volume of a RR. Rear seats aside you've got a decent sized van amount of empty space that needs heating, so unfortunately it'll always take a while.

Make sure the wheel under the centre face level vent is in the fully red position too....

MJ, personally I'd er on the side of caution with the wheel on the center face vent. Blowing warm air onto your face is one of the quickest ways to send you to sleep. In fact when Audi used to (Don't know whether it's till the case) build there cars without the facility to blow warm air on your face for exactly that reason. Had several customer complaining that they could only get cool air and it was only after consulting the technical bulletins we discovered why. |

I don't really understand why there are two lights on the Auto button, does one control temp and one control fan speed? |

I don’t actually put my dial fully red.... so take your point. I was working on getting the cabin hot quick.

The Auto recirc is exactly that, it uses a 'sniffer' to monitor air quality that coming into the cabin and automatically opens or closes the flaps to outside. So for example if you were driving through a tunnel full of lorries belching out clouds of exhaust fumes the senor would detect this and close the flaps to atmosphere and just recirculate the air inside the car until the outside air was clean enough to reopen them.
