Spot on! It's a solvent, hence the health warnings all over the can! ![]() Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey |

i do in fact use petrol to remove tar spots ![]() also the 'petrol' sold for Zippo lighters does the same job except its far more expensive though i guess many FFRR owners have at times felt like pouring 5 litres over the car and lighting it ![]() |

Send the wife/daughter/ girlfriend/ son's girl friend out with a little bottle of nail varnish remover and a paper kitchen towel - never be seen yourself with the nail varnish remover - the neighbours might get the wrong idea. And make sure they put the acetone on the kitchen towel not directly onto the paintwork 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |

I used hot water and tooth floss to remove the letters and then WD40 sprayed on to get rid of the residue. (all as per Scarey's advice |
