you called Stan?

the letters are being removed by the bodyshop before the bonnet is resprayed - so no help from me

on fleabay powerful do a 'wheel' that attaches to a cordless drill and is designed to remove glue residue

could try warming with a hairdryer (see RRS hairdryer for details Laughing ) and then using IPA and kitchen towels

there are proprietary glue removers but don't know how good they are?

acetone will certainly work but be sure its safe on paint

i do in fact use petrol to remove tar spots Laughing

also the 'petrol' sold for Zippo lighters does the same job except its far more expensive

though i guess many FFRR owners have at times felt like pouring 5 litres over the car and lighting it Rolling with laughter

Send the wife/daughter/ girlfriend/ son's girl friend out with a little bottle of nail varnish remover and a paper kitchen towel - never be seen yourself with the nail varnish remover - the neighbours might get the wrong idea. And make sure they put the acetone on the kitchen towel not directly onto the paintwork 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I used hot water and tooth floss to remove the letters and then WD40 sprayed on to get rid of the residue. (all as per Scarey's advice Bow down ). Finished off with a bit of polish.

Worked fine and took a few minutes. no trace at all afterwards.
