I started her this morning and fired up first time with the display showing 14.v so no power drain it seems overnight. So hopefully the new battery has fixed the 'not wanting to start' issue. Hopefully, I will not have the reduced Performance error. I still need to look in to the SC though and I would like to change all hoses. Does anyone know if there is such a kit for all the hoses on the 4.2 SC? Current Cars

That's good news, I was going to make a comment on your battery photo as I couldn't see a brand name, but thought you've enough $hi*e going on without me chipping in!
Glad she started this morning, a good sign that perhaps there isn't a battery drain after all.
Re-hoses, try Robin at Duckworths. When I asked about seat heaters he sent me a parts diagram & dare say he'll do the same for you re-hoses. 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

Oh yes that battery taken off is no brand or pavilion. It might ne OK just tested and its 13.5v so will leave it a day and retest seeif it has held the charge.

Just got back from a drive and whilst it did not go in to reduced performance mode it still chucked the engine light on. I did an ODB scan and its the missfires again on cylinder 3&7. Normally its 1,3,5,7

So now with new

exhaust
Spark plugs
Injectors
Battery

What else causes a missfire. Coil packs?

This car isnt near the ‘I want to get rid of it’ stage it is starting to annoy the foooook out of me. Nervous driving is notwhat I want to ne doing especially when or if the kids are inthe car.

New battery pic attached. I wastold this was better than the Lucas LS019 I was looking to purchase and has a 4 year warranty

It is now only going to be used as a spare so can chuck it in the shed and if I ever need it I have a backup. New one should be good and 4 year warranty which will last longer than the car at this rate!!! Current Cars

On the label on your old battery, there looks like a burn mark where your positive lead crosses the top of the battery. Worth checking if the cable is okay?

Here's the info on the supercharger coolant pump wiring. I did this fix on my '06 4.2SC but the pump was too far gone and would still cause it to go into 'Reduced Performance' on long spirited drives. New pump is advised to cure, not expensive and easy to change.

Not sure on the cylinder codes though i'm afraid. Can't help but think it has to be something common to the cylinders in that bank though.

Nice one. Apart from the error codes as I am not getting those it does seem to be similar to what is happening to mine. so it is just a matter of flipping the wires over which is simple enough.

Do you have a 'how-to guide' as in where will I find these wires, are they near the top or under the car, do I need to take anything out to gain access and what am I actually looking at/for. I haven't seen anything in my engine bay other than covers and boxes.

Some pictures of the unit, wires, the location would be highly appreciated. I do have a mechanic who I can get to do it and won't charge much but I was thinking to do the pump, coil packs at the same time perhaps. Current Cars

Codes are missfires. Historically it has been bank 1 drivers side. 1,3,5,7 miss fire and as of new exhaust and battery it is 5,7 so far

I think coil packs. Has to be. So many vids and info I have absorbed thus far. Judders slighlty at say traffic lights. Reduced performance when underload or acceleration. I would assume the sparks (already replaced twice) will be destroyed or caked up ad well. Coil packs are the only thing in the process not changed.

sorry chap not familiar with the petrol models!!

Are they individual coil packs or single?
if they are singles is it worth swapping them around see if the miss fire follows?
though they are not massively expensive i would be tempted to buy 2 and fit them if they cure the issue on those cylinders replace the lot.

Don't buy any, just swap them and see if the problem follows the swap or stays on the same cylinders

I dont get the error on bank 2 so could swap all 4 over and then see if bank 2 has the missfires. 2,4,6,8. If so then would point to coil packs. If errors stay on bank 1. 1,3,5,7 would point to something else. Headache but will try that. Current Cars
