If you have towbar electrics you can buy an adapter to charge through there. Keith

As above, the posts under the bonnet are fine to use. Kev

If you can be bothered, you can connect hard wire a CTEK connector to the posts

I have a Cetek charger with adapter cable so I permanently connected the adapter straight to the battery. Then all I have to do is connect the charger which can sit on top of the spare wheel while topping up. |

Service manual says that you should not connect to battery. Connect to posts in engine compartment. |

Not sure it's a problem as such - but the posts are conveniently located under the bonnet.

You can as long as you connect the negative terminal to earth rather than the negative battery terminal. There's an electronic gismo in the negative wiring that monitors battery status- if you connect Ctek directly to both battery terminals it bypasses this and the BMS thinks that the battery hasn't received the charge and various 'low-battery' strategies/warnings can be kicked off as a result. |

Very strange! I have a JLR CTEK kit and guess where it connects You guessed it, in the boot on the main battery terminals... There is a small cigar lighter charger port in the RHS boot panel... |
