Baffling starting problem | |
Hi, my 2007 tdv8 has developed an annoying trait,it is completly unreliable to start!
Despite a new battery and a recent aux battery in the boot on occasions it just refuses to turn over fast enough to fire, this can be from cold in the mornings or after a 30 mile journey and a quick stop of minutes upon return to the car with its, still hot engine its just sluggish to turn over, fortunately I have a portable jump starter I carry at all times now to get me out of bother, which it always, does. I have a voltmeter on the dash reading 14.5v with engine running, so I'm assuming alternator is OK and when the jump starter is attached the car fires up straight away, so again I'm assuming the starter motor is OK? Does it sound like a bad earth or a cabling issue? I'd so
appreciate any advice, thanks.

I used to be indecisive and have a split personality... but we are ok now...I think?
