United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 V8 Santorini Black
New member, just bought a 2012 TDV8

Hi everyone, very pleased to join here, I've been reading a lot and cracking on with a few jobs on the FFRR. Bought it last weekend. Had a really squeaky heater fan so i stripped the dash down and took the heater fan cover off. Dripped some light lube oil on the bearings and it's all quiet now. Impossible to remove it as there is a large wiring loom plastic box in the way but oil will be fine as i used to do this on the old BMWs i had and they were quiet for years.

Looking forward to contributing and learning more about all things L322 on here.

It's a 4.4 TDV8 Westminster with 81k miles and 2 owners. On Tuesday it's going into the local LR specialists for GB oil flush, EGR remove and remap (inc performance map) and more fluid changes, new battery etc.

Cheers

Jim.

Lovely car. You're not a submarine engineering officer by any chance (judging by your DIY fix it skills)?

I would research EGR removal on this engine prior to getting it done. Apparently the 4.4 TDV8 doesn't like it but the 2009 3.6 TDV8 did. Speak to Cam tech Craig on here for best info.

Welcome Thumbs Up
Don’t fiddle with the EGR as the DPF needs it to work properly Thumbs Up
Remap on a 4.4 is an ECU out job....

I'd think long and hard about removing the EGR. The DPF regen process uses the cooling system of the EGR.

Dunc. The life you have is the only one you'll get; make the most of it.

I would run it fior a few weeks before thinking about chipping they are very potent as standard. Also if you do go ahead don’t be tempted to over do it as the gearbox is only rated at 700nm torque which is more or less what it kicks out as standard 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23
