TPMS readings

I might needs a new pressure gauge, however I was checking the tyres as part of my new shiny appreciation day, and noticed that they have been set a bit high when the tyres were fitted before lockdown.

So I checked them on the dash with the TPmS monitor. They were also a bit high on there too. 2.5 on the fronts and 2.7on the rear. I let a bit out with and checked them again with my trusty PCL tyre gauge. And set them at 2.3 front and 2.5 rear.

I then checked to see what the reading was on the dash and it was still reading 2.4 front and 2.6 rear. So it seems that the TPMS reads 0.1bar higher than my gauge.

Weird. I’ve been using this for years and it’s always seemed correct.

Anyway the OCD in me has let a bit more air out and the dash now reads 2.3/2.5 in line with the recommendations. But I’m non the wiser as to which is the most accurate!!

Anyone else noticed that the TPMS reads wrong?? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Always thought my PCL one was pretty accurate, but as it was reading high on the TPmS no big deal let a bit out... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
