United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Santorini Black

Picked the new RR up this afternoon. Definitely pleased with the choice of black wheels as I think it emphasises the silver stripe.

The photo's aren't great quality I'm afraid but it's off for detailing and a ceramic coating in a couple of weeks so I will post some more then when its very shiny Smile

Tomorrow it's having a MetaTrack CAT 5 Immobiliser and Tracker fitted. I had the same system fitted on my last one. No problems and more piece of mind as without the fob it's going nowhere. Plus I can disable the RR remotely via the app if required.

Then this weekend I am re-fitting my Blackview 750S 2-Ch (front & rear) that was fitted to the last RR professionally. I have done plenty of research and think I can fit this one myself. Also fitting the Optimate solar charger which was on the last one. Should be fun in the sun hopefully this weekend.

BTW A new long wheel base Defender turned up at the dealership in black and silver. They are big Censored ! Looked better in the flesh than in the promo features. Would like to see how they drive and ride. MY23 D350 HSE

Thats a cracking looking car, dark colours with the silver looks really good, great choice Thumbs Up and the Defender is awesome to drive, you may even wish you had brought one of them instead and that is indeed high praise Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Looks nice and a great deal again Cool

How are the seats in an SE versus the previous AB ? I'm looking for another FF and the SE is the sweet spot but after the superb seats in an AB I'd want to see if they are a big let down in an SE.
There are some great deals around for both these models at the moment so might be time to upgrade again!

The MY18/19 seats are more comfortable than the MY17 seats. They are a completely different design. The only difference I could find on the MY19 between the VSE and AB seats are that the AB seats have a couple more movement options. MY23 D350 HSE

Thanks Phil, I'm going looking this week to see what bargains can be had. Nice pre reg AB for £80k is my target or an SE for £60 something or early £70k with a good spec.

There are still a couple of 4.4 AB's on AT (I linked to one above) at £87,500 and because I negotiated on one of them I know you can get another £4k discount as a finance contribution, which is close to your target price. I'm settling my HP deal this week but it did the job from a discount perspective.

I haven't seen many SE's at a decent price since I bought mine but I was only looking at 4.4's. There are several more available if you want the 3.0. MY23 D350 HSE

I'm preferring the 4.4 myself although the 3.0 is a great engine you just can't beat the extra cubes.

The dealer has put my old one up at £55k, a £12.5k mark up! And it’s immaculate, so they will have to do little more than wash it and stick a new set of tyres on it. Someone on here should have bought it off me. MY23 D350 HSE

That mark up is probably the VAT on the p/x price paid to you plus the warranty premium and some pennies for the dealer.

I thought VAT was only applicable on the profit element of the sale rather than the PX value of the used vehicle. In which case their mark up is circa £10k plus VAT. MY23 D350 HSE

It’s a murky world and dealers used to show a higher px value on the invoice as some kind of VAT scam.

I’ve always presumed that the sticker price included VAT, so when assessing a p/x always divided the sticker price of a similar car to the one I’m trading by 1.2 (or1.175,1.15, depending on the rate at the time) to see what the net value of the offer was. Factor in the commission the dealer gets from selling the finance (about 3 months worth of payments I was once told) and some bits and bobs like paint protection and if they make about a grand or so I’m prepared to do a deal. They get 2/3 of sweet FA for selling the actual car, apparently.......
