I replaced my 3.0 D4's serpentine belt at 100K kms with a Dayco belt. After another 80K kms I removed the Dayco belt because of its cracks and refitted the original belt whilst I waited for a genuine LR belt. I've had many Dayco belts fail on my farm machinery so now only ever use genuine equipment manufacturer's belts. |

If you bought a Genuine LR belt kit, it would have been a Dayco belt and tensioner inside the box |

That doesn't guarantee that the quality of a Dayco belt bought from a bearing supplier for the same application is the same quality. |

Why would Dayco make more than 1 quality of belt for the same application?

That would make sense, the aux belt arguably has a tougher time, dealing with water/dust etc, whereas the Cambelt is mostly isolated from those elements, especially if the cr goes off road |
