TD6 Glow plug dash light not illuminating

L322 TD6 53plate, Problem started with a Glow plug relay failure notification on IID tool after a a non start on a cold morning
I have replaced all 6 Glow Plugs with Delphi, replaced Glow Plug Relay, Checked Fuse behind battery.
With the multi meter power going to each heater plug top via the timed glow plug relay.
I still have no Glow plug illumination lamp working on Dash and Poor starting or non starting on a very cold morning, when running it drives well.
before all this happened starting was not an issue.
any ideas ?

In all the years I had mine, I never saw it illuminate once. I did have starting issues ar one point, but that was 2 faulty injectors.

You might have a different issue if you have investigated the relay etc though.

More knowledgeable folk will be along soon....

If it helps, my 53 TD6 shows the glow plug light and a message saying "Pre-heating" when starting on cold mornings. Stays for a few seconds. That said, when it starts it smokes like an old bus for the first few seconds. I've put this down to dud glow plugs but reading how they often like to shear off when removing them, I live with it. Only happens when the ambient temp is around 6 degrees or less. 2004 Vogue TD6 - Remapped Smile

Thank you SidewaysMatt that is helpful.
again this morning 0 deg airfrost no bulb illumination engine cranks non start, charge up for 15 mins and booster pack this spins the engine fast enough for it to catch and run.
before the glow plug relay failure i had the same as you glow plug light illuminates for a few seconds crank the engine starts up smoking like a good old bus. i did manage to change all my glow plugs about 2 hrs work, need to run / drive until hot then take it apart plugs came out OK (i did a pre dismantle before just to make sure i could get to the glow plugs before they cooled) and no hidden seized bolts etc on the way, in my opinion worth doing.
i will update with any findings asap

Regards Ian
