In all the years I had mine, I never saw it illuminate once. I did have starting issues ar one point, but that was 2 faulty injectors.

If it helps, my 53 TD6 shows the glow plug light and a message saying "Pre-heating" when starting on cold mornings. Stays for a few seconds. That said, when it starts it smokes like an old bus for the first few seconds. I've put this down to dud glow plugs but reading how they often like to shear off when removing them, I live with it. Only happens when the ambient temp is around 6 degrees or less. 2004 Vogue TD6 - Remapped
