United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Zermatt Silver

Hi

I have just purchased an Apple Lightning 30-pin adapter MD824ZM/A thinking it would connect my iPhone 7S to my 2012 Westminster.

How wrong was I?

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

TM

Now, I'm not a fan of Apple - though I have family members that are -- I was told that the convertors are at best temperamental -- now the inference was that non original Apple convertors were likely not to work whilst genuine Apple convertors did -- I've been unable to prove that conclusively Sad Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Oh WOW!

Sorry assumed you had the cable already -- they are supplied with the LR iPod connectivity kit! so should be with the car!

If you don't have one then yes -- that being the case also find a iPod to test that cable before testing your convertor Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Can you find someone with an old iPod you can test the new cable that just arrived? Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Just got Bovee1000 and connected to L322 Westminster. Paired Bovee with iPhone X but car just continually says ‘Comnect Device’. Defective Bovee? Wrong phone? Wrong iOS? Any ideas if it should work or not?

Thanks

Well, picked up my 60 plated Autob SC today.. Should have read the forums as wasn't expecting such audio issues on a car of this calibre but hey, its a RR so who would have guessed Laughing

Quick question as I think I know what to get here so won't be asking the same questions but, any issues with connecting 2 BT devices to your iPhones, (one in car for phone) and one for the BT dongle for Spotify. I know you can have keyboards and audio, but wasn't sure of any issues with Phone and Music.

Thanks

Tim

@TeeMyob

You need an original Land Rover interface cable that came with that model. Then you can plug in the Apple interface cable and it will work with your iPhone. I've never had any success using aftermarket cables, plugs or any other interfaces with any Apple devices.

Bovee1000 arrived today. Already had the RR cable so plugged them together and paired with my phone, Spotify working straight away. Can't believe how easy that was Smile

I have been after the "correct" adaptor for MY2010 Ipod cable. Tried the cheap apple copies, tried the "branded" Apple copies- non worked. Bite the bullet, and spend £26 on a genuine apple ipod to lightning adapter lead- Apple music, Spotify, Radio X app - all work. apple music and Spotify work with steering wheel controls ( Spotify only seems to shuffle the playlist we are on, but thats work in progress) Sound is so much better than the AUX lead- and its cheaper than the Bovee. Welcome Rosie J - The Newer Kid on the Block

I've just read all the topic and still remain a bit unsure.

In my 2010 AB, I have this:

I have an iPhone 8 Plus. I want to use Spotify.

What do I need, please? A lead or a Bovee thing?

This bloke on Youtube says an original LR lead, a spurious voltage converter and an Apple lead.

Does the Bovee thing offer any advantage over that messy cable set up other than being wireless?

And if using wireless Bovee, it would be this one plugged straight into the car without the LR lead? But it has 8% bad reviews. It seems they conk out after 2 months. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black

As per the thread title, if you want to stream then you need a Bovee. If you don’t want to stream then use a cable.
