Got a suspension fault today and the fault code from my Gap IIDtool reads:

Quote:

“Pressure does not decrease when venting gallery - Algorithm based failure - signal probability failure”

Anybody have some insights on this?

this seems to be a problem with the l405... check the air drier which is part of the compressor. As the code says it's trying to vent air but the pressure is static. My guess is clogged compressor exhaust which passes through the air drier.

I do not know... on older vehicles the dryer used to be removable. Also on older vehicles this error had to do more with a clogged compressor exhaust silencer and less to do with the dryer. Someone else mentioned a similar problem recently and I looked up function of the compressor exhaust in the 405 service manual... Apparently the system vents through the dryer. The dryer itself is just a canister filled with media, you may be able to replace it or possibly open and replenish it. Not entirely sure. I cannot easily find a replacement part online but you may want to do a search and see what you come up with. I could also be totally off base on this but on the l322 and I'd suspect the l405 when the compressor exhaust clogs up air leaving the system cannot leave quick enough and you get this fault.

Thanks for the tips. I dug up the manuals for the system on Topix so I could attempt to check out it this weekend...just in time for the fault to disappear.

If it does have a sintered brass muffler on the exhaust (as per the 322) you can unscrew it and soak it in white vinegar for 24 to 48 hours to clean it - cleans it perfectly (expensive to buy).
