there's a power outlet in this vent section also. does that whole section with the outlet come off easily? just a flat screw driver under trim? anything else you can advise. don't want to break anything #expensive

Can’t work out how it come off it it should come off and don’t want to break it. Seems to be a hand hold but assumed there would be a latch or something. --

I shut mine off because 1.) irritating 2.) wear and tear on starter 3.) wear and tear on engine 4.) battery drain. Totally ridiculous thing and a way to tease up MPG for regulations IMO. Mine has a button. Our Mercedes has a button which you have to press every single time despite shutting it off in the menu, dealer shut that one off for us.

For those of you in USA there appears to be a sensor which detects ethanol in the fuel and disconnects the stop start. Mechanic at dealer identified. Not sure it’s deliberate or accidental on part of LandRover as most FFs in US would be filled with up to 10% ethanol if you use the higher octanes. If you run a couple of tanks of non ethanol slightly lower octane the stop start feature returns. My understanding is that there are a number of inputs which cause stop start activation including ambient temp, HVAC status, engine fan operation etc.
interestingly I also have a Porsche Cayenne Hybrid S and have given up trying to figure when and how it uses stop start, battery, battery plus engine etc. when I asked the Porsche dealer he said don’t worry someone (German) much smarter than me has figured out the logic. Maybe same individual who figured out how to defeat the diesel emissions test. Probably out of work or in jail.
