Restricted perfomance

Restricted perfomance flicking on and off on dash mainly when cold.
Only stays on for a second car seems to drive ok.
I don't have a code reader yet so no idea what to check.

Randomly or when accelerating ?

Top intercooler hoses are a common cause on the 3.6

Flashes briefly on start up and random after that.
Sometimes on acceleration sometimes when idling

Have you had the codes read at.all? Would be a good place to start but a failing battery or alternator can give a lot of false codes. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

There's not much to go on there unfortunately without the full code. It would normally be p followed some numbers and letters. This helps pin point where the issue lies. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

Can anyone confirm that when Restricted Performance appears, it’s accompanied by further messages like stability control, forward alert, abs etc. I read on a Facebook group that if these further messages appear it’s not an engine related fault. One owner said it could be a battery problem. For info, mine doesn’t have an AGM battery and it’s a 2010 model. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Mine is a non tft dash but came up engine system fault then special programs off (all the off road suspension stuff) so similar and this was a cracked inlet manifold. This threw up a p023d code. An alternator failing would throw up lots of codes as well like suspension etc so could be many things. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

If you paid for the codes read I would go back and ask them for the rest of the info.

What was suggested they do to resolve the issue? Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

I think you’re getting lots of poor info from Facebook. I don’t think that randomly changing things like the battery is going to be helpful.
What codes are are being recorded?
Personally I would return it to standard as this can only help your fault finding by removing an unknown variable then try some logical fault finding rather than hoping to get lucky with Facebook guesses
Good luck

That is a probably a leak in the high pressure (i.e. after the turbo) side of the drivers side cylinder bank. Check first for a split in the top left-hand hose as you look into the engine compartment. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8
