IMO, if you blank off the egr's then have them mapped out. That way the correct flow data is received by the ecu.

Having read this thread and any and all others that I could find on the subject of EGR blanking on the 3.6 TDV8 I've gone ahead and ordered the EGR Delete kit as per others.

You could consider https://bellautoservices.co.uk who do remote remaps. It would mean having also to purchase a Gap iiD (if you don't already have one) but that would be a very useful item to have, unless your relatives have suitable diagnostic already.

The EGRs on my 3.6 have been disabled for 3 or 4 years now. No I’ll effects. The motor was immediately a little smoother at idle without the EGRs. Not a big change but noticeable.

Thanks for the feedback folks. Reassuring to know, especially as my nearest remap is a boat trip away. |

Am I correct in thinking that if you use the blanking kit you still leave the EGR electrics plugged in? John

I have fitted the egr-delete ebay kit to my 2010 facelift 3.6 autobiography today and I echo the comments made by other posters. Big improvement however I already knew what it would be like having had an electronic delete on a previous TDV8.

EGR’s in place, all working fine at 60,000+ miles, no MoT issues, happy to keep those NOx emissions in check and keep those eBayer’s that sell this kit as poor as possible! |
