depends what you mean re 'slamming shut'.....get them to open/close some tailgates on their forecourt and see if its anything like yours.. ... - .- -.

Check the software level of the tailgate control module (upper) and ensure it is the latest released version - if it is not, update the module

so it looks like one of the boot struts is being replaced. I guess that might slow the closure speed of the tailgate.

Any update on this?

Both my upper and lower will soft close manually, but pressing the remote or tailgate buttons and it's a slam!!

It doesn't look like i have any alignment issues.

Mine all works properly now. It was all about the alignment which required the hinges to be moved about until the doors closed with the soft close. Had to go to the body shop as the garage couldn't do it. 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel
