Oddly Stan my wife new car has this feature, and I don't think you can switch it off (otherwise I would have) but I have grown to be OK with it and the way it starts the car before pulling off is almost magical. Obviously I wouldn't have it on my RR but is OK on her Mazda Geoff |

I quite like it Stan, saves all the vibration of the Derv engine when stationary! |

Just get it in the start routine. Foot on brake press start press stop start press handbrake letters not necessarily in the right order |

I've disabled it on a few cars but only by getting to the switch wiring. A small module with 2 timers, the first one waits 30 seconds when the ignition is switched on, the second timer then operates a relay for 0.5 seconds simulating the button beig pressed. 1/2 dozen components and 4 wires sorted. My first attempt was similar and quite easy to short the switch out, many systems however look for the changing state and if they see it permanently closed or open will signal an error etc hence why I did the two timer idea which works just like the switch being manually pressed, the initial pause is to give the engine time to be started and then it defeats the stop/start before youve driven off the drive. ^That looks interesting Mike, although I wouldn't necessarily believe their claim it doesn't affect the warranty.....

Stop start is really irritating , all be it for some, & I’m some! London drivers may have a different view.
