Reversing sensors on when towing

So I’ve just hooked up the tintent to get it cleaned after the winter.
I put the car in reverse and the sensors came on. I can turn them off on the dash but I was under the impression that when the towing electrics were plugged in, it disabled the sensors so there was no audible alert.

Anyone know if this is correct? 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

It should. Maybe whoever fitted the towbar didn't alter the setting in the CCF ... Regards,

Maybe to simple, but I am, if the plug is not really pushed in or if the cable of the trailer has a problem the sensors keep on beeping. Does it show the little trailer on the dash when plugged in?

The air suspension should also be disabled (orange light on switch) when a trailer is sensed as plugged in
That might help to eliminate if it is not sensing something plugged in.
Best wishes

The air suspension on MY07 onwards (Terrain Response is fitted) is not disabled when a trailer is detected although automatic selection of off-road height is disabled if rock-crawl is selected.
