Is this a common problem ive read a tiny small hole is needed but would it be covered under a land rover warranty ?

Is there liquid water running around inside the lamp? If not, I’ve had varying degrees of condensation, on and off, from new with my 2017 car. I doubt if there’ll be a warranty claim as it’s even mentioned in the handbook as simply being a characteristic that usually clears when the weather changes

I know it`s not a 405, I have the same problem with mine L322, what I did was take it off the car it has 2 rubber caps which I removed I then put my blow gun from my compressor and blew it through which cleared the moisture replaced the caps and reinstalled worked for me?

Again this is on a L322. My LH side had condensation and liquid water of about a quarter inch depth in the bottom. The RH side being totally clear and dry. I took the LH cluster off and drilled three holes in the bottom. It's now totally clear, no condensation. However, I wouldn't do that if it was under warranty.
But in the OP's case, if one has condensation and the other doesn't, surely that means it's defective, i.e. a seal is not working and allowing water ingress.

Ive just bought an L405 and from what I can see the only thing that needs some attention is condensation in one of the rear lights. It does disappear in cold weather but then leaves a mark. Has anyone successfully fixed it and can the light unit be "rinsed out" to remove the mark like I did with my L322 front lights. Geoff

the condensation in the rears lights is a common problem, its even mentioned in the owners manual...

Yea I got a bit in my L322 but this new one has a lot. Drying it out in the sunshine as we speak, yep link is rubbish doesn’t work for me either  Geoff

I was always getting water/condensation in the LH rear lamp but never the RH so I figured it must be a failure of sorts.

When it rained I took a look at both lamps and both had water pooling on the top of the housing externally, I took the LH lamp out and looked extremely carefully at the sealing around the top edges and found what “could have been” a minute difference in the sealant area, so after drying out the lamp indoors with a blow heater just warming it up for a day I smeared some black silicone sealer along the area, after that the lamp remained as the RH lamp......dry. David

Unit is now free of condensation but there are marks on the inside of the glass. Looks like the next stage is to "inject" some water through one on the three holes in the base (I assume drilled by the previous owner) and see If they will rinse away before finally drying again and the sealing.

I have an old syringe I can use so first hot soapy water then rinse with boiled water,

I'll block up the holes I'm not injecting through with blu tack first to stop water immediately draining out - what could possibly go wrong?

I had some old headlamps which had formed a slight “haze” on the reflectors and obviously impossible to clean as a sealed unit, I didn’t fancy trying water inside and drying out as the silvered reflector surface might have been damaged/marked.

So thinking laterally I put a cup full of rice (dry of course ) into the lamp and gave the unit a bl00dy good shake for a while, upon emptying the rice through the bulb hole the reflector surface was shiney and clean

Don’t know if it would work with water marks on the plastic lens but couldn’t do much harm, as long as you can see it would all come out of course  David
