Jacking up L405

I was thinking that I might like to Jack my L405 up to change wheels and that sort of stuff. I was thinking about buying a trolley jack so I need recommendation there but also where do I lift the car up from if I can't use the jacking points on the sills (side steps) I probably need sketches or a photo because if you say place jack under the thingy whatsit arm I won't have a clue where or what that is. I bought a 3 ton trolley jack from SGS and just jack from the std deployable sidestep mounts - literally I can swop all 4 wheels over to my AT winter tyres in 5 minutes with the trolley jack and a Milwaukee rattle gun 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Do you have deployable steps ?

If you do then very easy with a trolley jack but less so a bottle jack - picture on this thread

I have deployable side steps and just raise the car to off road height, and also put it in mud or rock mode (can’t remember which one) which locks them closed and jack away using the jacking point on the steps 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Thanks lads I didn't realise it was so easy, now all I have to do is order a trolley jack. SGS seem to get a good press on here so I think the 3T one with the lift up to 520mm should do it - any other suggestions? Geoff

If ordering from SGS I would also order an extra rubber pad for the jack from them at the same time, the pad is cheap as chips, but if you order later the carriage will kill the cost.

You also need one of these

Shocked it’ll make your nuts rattle

FFRR OEM nuts don’t mix well with impact wremches - I always loosen/tighten the last bit by hand Thumbs Up

They are linked to an App on your phone - you have 4 presets which you can customise and set for different torques, I have set my setting one to just below max hand tight with a conventional FFRR wheel brace, and then just tighten up the last bit by hand - works perfectly, they are not like the old rattle guns of 10 years ago. The new type are brilliant and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again, our air compressor is now obsolete Thumbs Up 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
