United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

Just fitted these on my L322 SC, and very pleased with the choice.

They are quiet, cheap, and look the business .

Also a thumbs up for tyre fitter AJS Tyres, near Reigate. Specialise in 4x4 and they all drive Rangies or Discos. It was interesting to note that they were all running on AT3s

For the record and after a few concerns & 2nd thoughts - I've just fitted GG AT3's ( 255/55/r20) to my L322 (MY2010) & very pleased & thoroughly recommend them to others wondering whether to go for them,or not?

My reason on buying is that I needed new tyres anyway and the current Pirellis are useless on grass, mud and any snow+ I was also looking at taking it skiing next season.

I had an XC90 before & fitted it with Nokians. These were very good, but hadn't seen any L322 reviews on using these tyres and were also more expensive.

Only slight downside with AT3's is the spare is a snug fit & i have only partially inflated it. The car sits just slightly higher ( you would only notice if you'd owned the car for a while or knew your L322's)

But feels a better, smoother ride than the OEM Pirelli scorpions & cheaper to buy. No noisier than Pirellis either.

Hi guys.

I run 32psi all round on my car, 275/45/R20 on an RR Sport. The higher psi figures for rears assume you'll be driving with a boot full of heavy luggage and for the most part, it is totally empty.

The car feels much more balanced now and when you go over bumps and pot holes, you have the same "feel' from front and rear and is much smoother.

Also, if you stand back and look at the sidewall bulge, it is now the same front and rear.

Don't forget that once you have heat from your brakes and driving, the pressures increase with temperature.

G

Anyone running these on a L405? If so what do you think of them? L405 SDV8 Autobiography (MY13)

I have been running General Grabber AT3s in 255/55/20 on my L405 all winter and they have been excellent. I have been on shoots and other off-road locations which were beyond the capabilities of the OEM Pirellis. I have not noticed any downside. Certainly no increase in road noise.

I will probably but the Pirellis back on for the Summer to keep the AT3s with as little wear as possible so that they are as good as can be next winter.

I am not after winter tyres. I need tyres to get me across muddy fields and they do that very well.

I got the car with 36 all round, changed to 34/36 as per door shuts and felt the car dived a bit more under braking. Will be going back to 36 all round!

Thats good. It sounded from the way you'd written your comment that "WInter" implied driving on snow and compacted snow.

It does make a big difference to have the pressures on all four the same. Funny as they always have the lower pressure at the front where most of the weight is and always struck me as counter intuitive once you know that.

Actually they have M+S and the 3PSMF symbols on the sidewall. The Goodyear website says:

"True winter tires, carrying both M+S and 3PSMF markings, make an important safety contribution in winter conditions, particularly for cars and vans"

So I think they are winter tyres and are suitable for use in snow even though that is not my main requirement.

If anyone has a pic or two of the 55 profile Grabbers on an L322, would you mind sharing? I'm approaching the point when I need new tyres but I'd like to see how they look in real life on a car, rather than just a pic of the bare tyre on a website.

Unnecessary quote removed

There is a big difference Martin but if your AT3s work well for muddy tracks and fields then thats fine but, having a Mud and Snow marking and 3PSMF does not make it a true Winter tyre. Winter tyres have many more sipes than an AT3 and the compound structure of the tyre is different.

My General Grabber Snow Grabber Plus have hundreds more sipes than an AT3 and the harder rubber of the AT3 make them fine to drive on during the summer months. Winter tyres are generally too soft for summer driving.

M+S & 3PSMF makes them more of an All Season but not a specialist Winter tyre.
