Blind spot monitor fault during heavy rain

Think I may have a water ingress issue with my blind spot monitor system. Twice now while driving in heavy rain the the blind spot monitoring system has failed with the warning message "BLIND SPOT SENSOR INACTIVE" or similar.

Once the rain stops or eases off the system starts working again.

Where are the blind spot sensors on the L322? I've heard that they're under the finisher plates of the rear pillars but also that they are in the rear bumper. Which is right? I though it was the L405 that has them in the bumper.

I had the left rear finisher plate replaced a few months back as the weather strip at the top had come unstuck and was no longer watertight. The new strip looks like it still might not be correctly sealed in one spot so maybe water is getting in there.

Funny that I never had the fault occur driving in the rain before I had the finisher plate replaced... 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 automatic (LHD), Santorini Black

Thanks. Damn, wish the problem had occurred two months back when I had the rear park distance control loom replaced. They could have checked the blind spot sensor while they were at it Confused 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 automatic (LHD), Santorini Black
