Deployable steps and tailgate

Hey guys

So I’m not sure if this is supposed to happen or not because it doesn’t say anything in the deployable steps manual but I’ve found that

If I unlock the car and it doesn’t matter weather I open the doors or not but once I’ve opened and closed the upper tailgate if I don’t then open any doors the steps come out and stay out. It’s good because it makes them easy to clean and also you can get to the roof etc but is this suppose to happen?

On another note I have this weird vibration at about 70mph on a scale of 10 it’s like 1.5 it’s so subtle and I think if the car didn’t ride so smooth then maybe it wouldn’t even be noticed. Just wondering anyone’s thoughts on this and I have never driven another Range Rover. Regards

Daz

Your steps are behaving the same as mine, so I'd say normal.

No idea about the vibration. Mike - MPx

Mine do that too. Good to know it's not just mine!

Funny you should mention that vibration. Mine also seems to do that, but not all the time so I think that rules out wheel balance (and they've all recently been done). It's not bad enough to investigate on its own, but a bit annoying nonetheless. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

Surely with a sticky calliper you’d feel it at any speeds? Regards

I noticed sticky caliper when fuel consumption got a lot worse all of a sudden, and of course the squealing and hot wheel. I had a "wobble" when braking but that was down to warped discs.

I had a vibration once (lucky me) but got wheels balanced and 4 wheel tracking done - cured it. Geoff

Haven’t had it long enough to know what is correct fuel consumption lol.

I’m averaging 23-24 mpg around town.

Did do a motorway run yesterday but the average consumption didn’t change?

But the instant consumption was around 33-34 Regards

I recently had both of my rear callipers replaced along with discs, pads etc. I hoped it would solve the vibration but hasn't made any difference. Interestingly (for me), I think my fuel consumption is poor - I don't think I've ever seen 30mpg even driving like Miss Daisy on motorways. Even replacing the seized calliper hasn't made any difference. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE
