United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Vogue SDV8 Luxor
L405 Sat Nav repair

Hi All.
The satnav on my 2013 Vogue has just failed, in that on startup it thinks it is in the centre of Brussels, defaults to search country Belgium, won’t let me enter postcodes and loses all its settings when the ignition is off. After a while it finds where it is, so the GPS is functioning.
The dealer has quoted £1750 for a new ‘infotainment’ module.
I’m trying to pursue this through the extended warranty, but I’m not hopeful.
Any ideas who I could approach to repair it?
Many thanks 2013 Vogue SDV8

Basics first... Try a battery reset first 👍

Re-flash your existing module?

Got to be worth a try first!

+1
My understanding is that the default at start up after a reset is Belgium for some reason. It certainly is for the L322. John

Yes, I discovered that after about twenty attempts at entering a postcode...

Yes - every time I turn the engine on I have to resent the country to GBR, where it stays until I turn it off. (Apparently the sat nav manufacturer is based in Belgium).
The postcode icon is permanently greyed-out, irrespective of which country is set.
Anyway, the extended warranty company has agreed to pay for the fix, so we will never know....

This is a known failure mode with the Integrated Audio Module - it is referred to in LTB00642v3, it affects FFRR, RRS, D4, FL2 and Ewoks built between approximately 2012-2014.

As this always happens on start-up then a replacement IAM is required, if it was intermittent then a software flash may cure it.

I had the same fault with the Nav on my D4 and a replacement unit from eBay cured it - and came with more up to date mapping Smile (cost about £120 iirc)

My 2013 AB satnav indicated Belgium, then after resetting it to GB worked fine for a week or so.

Now on startup it thinks it’s in Bracknell.

I have been through menu options but can’t get it to identify where it is. It indicated GPS is connected.

Any ideas anyone?

TIA

I had an issue where it indicated on the in control app I was 30 odd miles away but cant remember if it effected the sat nav!! I suspect maybe not.

I did a DTC scan and their was a fault on the telemetric module after re setting the codes, the problem disappeared. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

Thanks for the info, is resetting the codes something I can do or is it a garage job?
