i wonder if its possible to replace the antiquated 2010-2012 head unit with an android one and still retain the 4x4 and setting menus and of course the steering wheel controls...

I have searched many times, but never found such a thing, but I am sure they would sell like hot cakes if some clever entrepreneurs were to produce one at a reasonable price.

But does it still display 4x4 info, like steering wheel position, car height etc etc?

Probably way too small market. The early BMW-models use the same headunit as a whole generation of BMWs (E38, E39, E46, E53 etc.), while the latest L322s are pretty much alone? A few jags maybe? 2007 L322 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway |

Probably not relevant, but on my Disco 4, I moved the original head unit to the glove box so I kept the clock and radio and BT, but then fitted a tablet in the dash.

Group buy? Most of the site refers to installation, so that price might include fitting? Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Yes, I am in! If this really is as good as the videos show it, it is pretty much the best update around.

but... requires a smartphone for it to work - all that is happening is the phone screen is being mirrored to the FFRR screen, everything "happens" on the phone .
