I guess it depends on how liberal the last mechanic was with the anti-seize. They can be a bit tight at times, take the inner and outer off in one go and take it to the bench vice if it’s too solid to split under the car. Personally if your in there I would change inner and outer anyway, for the small price of parts it’s worth doing.

Spray liberally with plusgas stixk the ball joint back and use the flats on the track rod to get it moving - go either way to break it loose

I was fortunate that mine came off easily, in the past I have found that heating with a good blow lamp or oxyacetylene torch then immediately chilling with water is very successful. |
