Forgive me for asking but could it be a left-handed thread?

I guess it depends on how liberal the last mechanic was with the anti-seize. They can be a bit tight at times, take the inner and outer off in one go and take it to the bench vice if it’s too solid to split under the car. Personally if your in there I would change inner and outer anyway, for the small price of parts it’s worth doing.

Good luck!

PS: not left hand thread by the way

I guess it could be-but I didnt think so.

It will just not move and I am struggling to grip the inner track rod enough to stand on a breaker bar!

Spray liberally with plusgas stixk the ball joint back and use the flats on the track rod to get it moving - go either way to break it loose
If that doesn’t work , gonna need heat 4.2 SC - sold , now bought back

I gave up ha ha!!

Took the whole track rod out (inner and outer) and whacked it in a vice.

Even with a 6 foot scaffolding pole as leverage it would not move an inch-quite amazing. The stilsons ended up bent!

Not going to try any more, I will just get an inner tomorrow and be done with it.

Thanks for the advice Thumbs Up

I was fortunate that mine came off easily, in the past I have found that heating with a good blow lamp or oxyacetylene torch then immediately chilling with water is very successful.
