United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black
Rear lights on all the time

Hi, bit of an odd one. I noticed the other night when i got out my car and locked it the rear lights were on at the top faintly, would/could this be the fog lights? They went off after 2mins 21 secs (i timed it several times - locking and unlocking the car).

They both seem to remain on permanently while the car is unlocked with or without the engine running. This is with the auto lights turned off but also does it if the light switch is set to auto mode. Im baffled to the reason why. Nothing is showing on IIDTool, no lights on the dashboard either. Being a 2011 model there is no LCM module (that i am aware of).

I have checked around the passenger seat front and rear for any damp or wet carpets and its dry. Anyone experienced this before or have any suggestions?

Picture below if it helps

Cheers Joe. Any idea where the brake light switch is? I don’t have an LCM module as mine is a 2011 model so lights go through BCM I believe. 2011 RR Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

Up the top and behind the brake pedal arm - well that is where it was on my TD6, easier access if you remove the trim panel below the dash / above the pedals .

To me, those look like aftermarket 'black' lamp units. If so, they're really designed to operate with earlier (pre 2010 facelift) cars, with the added circuit board.

There's a testing signal applied by the CJB which causes this. You'll most likely have a few fault codes stored, too ... Wink Regards,

Well spotted spooky, advertised as "This item will fit all Range Rover L322 models from 2002 - 2013 ( 2002 - 2009 require mount and wiring modification)

No fault codes though. Never noticed before so maybe its done it since they were fitted but only seeing them now the nights and mornings are dark. Need to find a fix as no option on IIDTool to alter hot/cold monitoring on a 2011 car. 2011 RR Autobiography 4.4 TDV8
