Engine oil & filter changed. Transmission flushed by pumping out dark grey fluid out of the cooler line. Fresh oil in the old fashioned way. Very time consuming and awkward. Diffs and transfer box oils changed. Quick test drive with a smug grin and all is wonderful.

Took the space saver spare wheel out to fit a full sized alloy I bought from Ebay. Got the space saver out fine and then used my newly purchased spare wheel 'winch' strap to lift the bloody heavy spare wheel in. Then realised the boot floor wouldn't sit flat so had to take the spare out again and remove the grey polystyrene ring and then lift the spare back in again How anybody could get the spare wheel out without one of these lifting straps is beyond me although, I suppose mine didn't have one as it was originally specced with a space saver

Took it for a service Glad to report no extra work needed although on the MOT earlier this year the tester reported that the pads were just about worn out and the discs were badly worn, so I was expecting 'the phone call'. when I picked the car up just now they said the pads had about 50% life left in them and the discs are fine I wonder if the last main dealer was touting for some work? Cheers Ian

New rear discs and pads. Had handbrake shoes, pins and springs to fit too but when inspected they were virtually new. It had recent back plates too. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal |

I know what you mean - when you can do 45,000 miles on a set and then be told 5,000 miles after fitting a new set that 'they're worn and need replacing.....' - yeah that.
