Considering the number of things and the reliability issues I considered this myself. I ended up reading buying guides and made myself a checklist to take along. I probably off the dealer but I made notes on my paper and spent 2 hours checking over the car.

It’s just the distance thing for me, I don’t want to travel all that way and not be happy with the car. Ideally I would like someone with the knowledge to check the car over.

That’s fair enough. I was only about 3 hours from the car I got so it wasn’t that big of an issue. I know the AA and RAC do them |

I've not got the knowledge of an expert or a mechanic, but I can press buttons and look for dodgy paint if that's any good to you mate? I'm only 3-4 miles from Wolves. |
