Could anyone recommend someone to do a pre-purchase inspection on a L322 in Wolverhampton area?
Basically just want someone to check all the usual areas for rust and that everything works as it should.

Considering the number of things and the reliability issues I considered this myself. I ended up reading buying guides and made myself a checklist to take along. I probably off the dealer but I made notes on my paper and spent 2 hours checking over the car.

It also meant I had a record of any issues I’d found which I could ask the dealer to sort or maybe negotiate on price if you prefer.

It’s just the distance thing for me, I don’t want to travel all that way and not be happy with the car. Ideally I would like someone with the knowledge to check the car over.
Orkney to Wolverhampton is not the quickest or cheapest commute for me

That’s fair enough. I was only about 3 hours from the car I got so it wasn’t that big of an issue. I know the AA and RAC do them

I've not got the knowledge of an expert or a mechanic, but I can press buttons and look for dodgy paint if that's any good to you mate? I'm only 3-4 miles from Wolves.

I feel your pain Richard......I had to travel 5hrs to view my Westie.......then 5hrs home......just to repeat it all when I went to collect her.......so over 20hrs worth of travelling.

She's worth it though.

I guess that's just the price we pay for living in remote areas.

I don’t mind traveling for the right car, but it’s a long journey if it’s not what you expect, quite often someone’s idea of excellent condition is a million miles away from what I’m expecting.
