You might need to do a system re-set, ideally with a diagnostic machine. There is the possibility that taking the leads off the battery and shorting the leads together (away from the battery) might work (referred to as a "hard reset" on here I think) but while that was done to my 2004 car when its battery failed in a remote location, I'm not expert enough to say whether that would work (and be safe) for yours, perhaps someone else who knows more can help. Only Range Rovers since 1988

its a complete new battery and i have coding charger plugged aswell. the windows are working on the left side not automatic, you have to hold the switch. the blower from the heating system runs at all stages. the cluster tries to start up and it gets light grey until shuts off again.

It does sound like your not getting any switched power.
Have you tried locking the car with the key in the lock and unlocking it again ?

Somewhere in the manual it says where to place the key under the dash when it's battery is flat. That uses passive activation and may help.

I think the obd will only work in the accessory position, else the modules aren't woken up. Too many toys, not enough time

so you have checked the battery and its fully charged? sometimes new ones are faulty or not charged up..

if the above is ok then disconnect the battery , wait 30-40 minutes , re-connect and start the engine..as soon as the engine is running turn the steering wheel fully left and then fully right to set the steering parameters...

hopefully all will be well.. ... - .- -.

What did you have painted? Is it something to which a lead is attached?
