Letter template

I’ve recently removed my bonnet and boot letters to give the bodywork a full polish. I’m replacing the badges now but when they’ve arrived they only come with a template to show the spacing between each letter. What I ideally need, and wrongly expected, is a full template that goes to the edge of the bonnet and boot to show where the letters should start. Are these available anywhere?

I think I should have masked it up, looks like a good job doing it that way. I’ll hope that if I can get the template in the right place then I should be good.

It should be in the centre, so just get your measurements right for bonnet and boot edge to edge to find the centre mark. If you need a measure from the bottom edge of bonnet or boot, we will all get out there with tape measures to give a range of values you can average Smile

FWIW

Bonnet, from edge of headlight (wing edge) to edge :196 cm
Bonnet, inner groove to inner groove: 107 cm
Bonnet letters from bottom edge: 24 mm

Boot, edge to edge: 137.5 cm
Boot, letters from bottom edge: 41 mm .

I wish it was that simple but the template comes in 2 parts, one for each word, not exactly ideal.

Thanks for offering to measure the bottom to top, I might need to take you up on that offer. Also if you could measure the gap between the 2 words would be even better.

Why not find another RR and using masking tape, make yourself a template that you can simply pull off and stick on your bonnet & boot Thumbs Up

I was thinking of doing just that but the 2 people I know with a Range Rover have a P38, the other has a new sport so either are exactly the same shape.
