Not exactly plug and play! And I note from the video that it doesn't fix the first start quick flashing of indicators .

Not seen the disco lights on startup, nor the fog light coming on.

Maybe just turn off hot/cold monitoring with the iiDTool ? - if I can... .

I figured if you turned off what hot and cold monitoring you could, you might be left with less issues to resolve....

Some of the ballast resistor stuff gets reall hot and you have to be careful where you put them. You prob know all that already.....

Just turn off the hot & cold monitoring to all the rear lights and that will resolve all the flashing and errors

What happens with your rear fog lamps when you turn them on/off?

I agree with Craig. I did just that and have no issues.

Joe,
a quick reply from an electronics techie, mainly for future reference.

the link you provided to the resistors shows 15 ohm 25watt.

In practice a normal indicator lamp draws roughly 1.75 amps (21w/12v) at 50% duty cycle (only on 1/2 the time).
A 15 ohm resistor will draw half that 12v/15r = 0.8A), which is enough for the indicator circuit to think a lamp is present.

At a 50% duty cycle that resistor is sinking less than 5watts, and is unlikely to get very warm at all, even if you had your indicators on permanently (similar to a 5w number plate lamp).

Using the same logic for your tail lights, the resistor will be on full time, draw twice the current, and will heat up, but not by a huge amount.
If you can clip or bolt it to the car metalwork somewhere it will sink the heat and not cause an issue.
If you leave it in free air with plenty of air around it, it will probably be ok.
If you enclose it, or tie wrap it to the rear of the plastic tail lights, you might have an issue.

With respect to these resistors, they are about £2.55 each from RS Components. Too many toys, not enough time

Got wife and son to stand front and rear whilst I switched on and ran through light sequences.

We couldn't make the rear lights dance, nor the fog light to come on, so these are not the issue.

Turned off just hot monitoring on all the indicator lights, this made them flash fast all the time so restored hot monitoring to on. Maybe turning off hot and cold monitoring together will do the trick ?

Turned off hot monitoring to tail and brake lights, but forgot to test. Not needed to drive with lights on, so haven't!
