Since there is some disc left I would start shopping around for new disc and pads. Often good deals can be found this way rather than buying straight away. What doesn't kill you is just bidding it's time. |

Sorry, got it wrong, the rear are half gone, its the fronts that have the bad cavitation and squeal like a pain in the a$$.

If there is plenty of material left on the pads and the discs don't look to bad you could just have so grit trapped which just requires removing the pads and cleaning them and the discs up. I had this after coming of a beach in Cornwall. What doesn't kill you is just bidding it's time. |

Last quick question before i try to clean/re-grease them, I have 3 tonne axle stands (for the pair, not each) are they alright, or better to get heavy duty ones? |

Cool, will have a clean up tomorrow if the weather holds, see if it cures it, if not, new disc and pads it will be. |

I Just did my rear discs and pads a few weeks back, but found fuel consumption dropped and warm wheels.

Going to try cleaning them out and re-grease first, see if that helps, if not, i will replace disc and pads. Thanks for all the info guys. |

All info most welcome. I had the front nuts replaced when they did the brake pipes last month. so they should be fine. Looks like an easy quick job to try the pads first, as i don't think you need to take the caliper off. But if this fails, disc and pads it will be, along with caliper check. |

Well what can i say. Went to do them today, got one side ready to be jacked up, went to do the other side and the locking wheel nut key has broken
