I just trimmed the ball joint down with a grinder then bashed the remains out with a hammer, was desperate after much previous effort without success. Got enemies? Good, you have stood up for something in your life.

Have done both sides now. Offside ball joint did not need replacing so it was much easier. Good luck.

I've bought the full kit so will probably replace it all and I know its done and good for another few years Current:
