Ireland 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Zermatt Silver

Interesting day today. I had the seals to do the leaky rear wash wipe repair in the wiki. So I set about doing it on a lovely day.
Works really well when I'd realised that I'd tightened the motor housing too much that motor wouldn't turn. Adjusted it while it was running to get it just right. The front door was open and my 20 month old son was messing around outside with the hosepipe. I looked up to him standing on the step filling the porch and hall with water. Oh joy! It's a laminate floor and SWMBO asked with a straight face "is that why they call it a floating floor" Laughing
But the biggest smile came the Mackems got relegated. Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

Snap, Stan! Cleaned mine, then machine polished every panel (using DAS 6 Pro, Chemical Guys green hex logic pad and Scholl S20 compound), finally waxed the car all over with solid Carnauba wax. Took the whole day and I'm now knackered, eased sightly by Saints losing in the cup, tee hee.
Here's a couple of photos:

United States 2012 Range Rover HSE 5.0 V8 Santorini Black

Over the past few weekends...

*Replaced the bonnet switch to get rid of the false "bonnet open" message coming on and off.
*Retightened the windscreen wipers to the motor in the correct position after they started parking in the wrong spot.
*Ordered a used hitch off eBay to fit so I can put my bike rack on.
*Did a basic inside & outside wash to prep it for full detail once the salt and brine has been cleaned off the roads here.

Last month had it into the dealership to replace rear door lock actuators. They found and fixed a wiring issue as well. This was part of the original purchase deal and was paid for by the seller.

The month before it was into the indy for new front upper & lower control arms, new sway bar links and bushes.

Next up: Fit hitch and change gearbox oil. 2012 L322 5.0l NA

Funny. Mine's been doing that every time the sun comes out and sets the alarm off. Most annoying.

I've just pulled the connection for now to stop the alarm. Will ask Dan for a new switch.

Glad it's not just me. Sort of.

DPF clear out run on the motorway slash Italian tune up combo trip. Def. seemed more responsive after, not just my imagination. Then full wash on the way back. A few others ^^ have had their polishers out so I felt at a minimum I needed some extra shine so a nice coat of carnauba wax went on, even at 9pm. Still loads of other outstandings that need attention. . Thumbs Up
. Cheers, Greg

Removed the sill covers on each side. There's 7 plastic push-fit clips on the underside of each sill cover. In addition I had to loosen the screws which secure the front mudguards (a pain, they were very rusty). Then the sill covers just pull off the body (i.e. pull away from the car, with the doors open), being secured by another set of clips to the car body. Several of these white clips broke but I had new ones to hand.
The amount of dirt hiding in the sill covers was amazing! Cleaned it all out and squirted Bilt Hamber Dynax S50 inside the sills themselves, as a preventative measure.

There was zero rust on the sills, which was good to see, but it seems to me that these sill covers are dirt traps that allow damp mud to build up which can't be a good thing. I reckon an occasional clean out is a couple of hours well spent.

Had 255 55 20 Michelins Lattitude sports fitted today. They have M+S stamped on them which surprised me. They fill out the archs a bit and are a bit quieter than my Zeros. 2015 4.4 AB
