Fitted a new gps arial today, sat nav was saying we where in the North Sea.
First looked what the nav. comp. was receiving.

Mmmmm not to mutch, look the number under St.

Then pulled the headlining down in the back and found a new arial laying there.

Then fit the new arial in the sharkfin.

Fit the fin back on place and looked what the nav. comp. was receiving now.

Ah....a lot better, look the numbers under St.

And........yes there we are!!

Scotland 2009 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue

New Pilkington windscreen after a 12" crack appeared across the middle. I had to help fit it as it's a two man job (but he was on his own) and they'd only booked him 75mins to do it. It took him that just to strip it down and get the old screen out!

Was a good opportunity to understand how it's done as well as keep an eye on things. Lining the new one up was a hairy moment but I really just needed to hold it close but not too close until he ran round and took it from me. Whistle

Rain sensor working - check. Heated elements working - check (I think).

Then got on the dual carriageway and there was a terrible whistling noise. Nipped back and pointed out that there really was a good reason for the glue between screen and scuttle panel. 5 mins later and jobs a good 'un. Fingers-crossed anyway... 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Drained and replaced the following fluids (2011 TDV8 4.4):
rear differential, transfer box, front differential and ZF gearbox. I have access to a mate's garage ramp and I wouldn't consider doing any of this wriggling around under the car. I've done a separate post on the gearbox fluid, but the diffs and transfer box are pretty easy. And now those boxes are good for another 30,000 miles or so.

Had recall P054 completed today by Pentland Land Rover, Cupar, Fife....all went well despite a warning that I might have to pay up to £500 Shocked if the brake pipes were corroded!! All fine and completed free of charge Thumbs Up

Vehicle also passed health check with only one issue - needs wheel alignment - video report very useful - vehicle in good condition underneath with no leaks Thumbs Up

Good overall experience Thumbs Up

The magic 100000 rolled up on the clock....but it was touch and go as I risked taking it to Reading and back with it's dodgy starting. Off to an Indie LR specialist tomorrow as after weeks off investigation, it looks like the ignition barrel. In one way I hope it is because if its any of the hundred other suggestions that forum members have put to me it will be off the road a very long time. They have a Autologic which I'm hoping is better than the Snap On Solus Ultra but boy I wish I owned a T4 testbook !

Ireland 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Zermatt Silver

Upgraded the reversing camera to a CCD type to compliment the LED bulbs I've fitted.
Night time manoeuvres are now a breeze.
Small issue to sort tomorrow is the way it's powered. Currently permanently live with ignition on so the small LEDs around the lens are on all the time. Need to wire the live into the reversing lights to sort it. Thumbs Up 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

Drove back from wassenarr in the Netherlands, 458 miles in one hit, barring stops to check in at the tunnel. 1089 mile round trip, returning 31.7 mpg four of us in the car with luggage. 603 miles before the fuel light came on. Super impressed with her! Especially as the trip should have been in the wife’s Astra but we ran out of space.

Not a good day!!! All set to take Domestic Zero and our granddaughter to Cotswold Wildlife Park for the day - 10 minutes from home got Trans Failsafe Prog and lost all gears, forward & reverse. Just been dropped off back home by the recovery people. Was booked into local garage for an aircon compressor change on Thursday - but I reckon there will be an even bigger job to add to the list now!
