yeah, its easy for OE tyres as its on the sticker inside the door jamb on most cars

33 front 36 rear for 4 people load

bump it up to 36/40 if 5 people + luggage etc cheers

Incorrect differential in tyre pressures between front and rear will lead to premature center diff failure Thumbs Up

you've got some suggestions Rolling Eyes

no one knows the correct pressure because there isn't one , you have to try different ones until you are happy...

What make are the tyres .........

Vredestein quote 39psi front & 42psi rear for Wintrac Xtremes &
Ultracs are 39psi front & 38psi rear.

How the tyre has been designed will determine the correct pressure.

I use lower pressures in Winter Conditions and higher when on high speed motorway work. The Door Jam Pressures are only there to ensure LR do not get sued and are bit on the high side IMHO.

Why?

Because the transmission is designed to allow a certain amount of slippage. If you've changed the rolling radius of the tyres (specifically the front rather than the rear or vise-versa) then one axle's wheels will be travelling faster than the other.

The same principle applies left to right and can cause front/rear diff failure quite quickly too.

This is why the fronts are X and the rears are Y rather than the same all round. Also why different pressures are given for different loadings as this also changes the rolling radius.

In the L322 incorrect front/rear pressures usually manifests itself as vibration felt at speed, similar to wheels being out of balance.

The Workshop Manual also makes speciffic reference to the tyres being at the correct pressures to maintain correct operation of the EAS.

My advice: get a nice set of OE LR 20" alloys and Tyres and then you can refer to the sticker on the OSF door pillar for pressures and bonus feature, it won't screw up your transmission and you won't look blinged but cool. Very Happy Discovery 4 HSE

I think judging by the lack of answers no-one knows.

Not sure if anyone on here has put 22" on his Range Rover... Kinda not the point.

btw - the manufacturer of the tyre bares no resemblance to the pressure Confused

let your mate tell you then..

the only answer you are going to get is going to be a suggestion of the psi because no one will know the exact pressure due to the tyres being non-standard for a RR...

the pressures for standard tyre sizes have been provided by the manufacturers who liaise with the tyre companies... ... - .- -.
