I have ordered an autobrite one that I will have a go with too. My car is properly dirty so it will have its work cut out  Too many toys, not enough time

Oh it was pretty bad.. i'm not suggesting I just sprayed foam on it and blasted it off.. not at all.. I did..

* pressure rinse
* alloy clean
* snow foam and rinse
* snow foam and sponge
* more snow foam
* pressure rinse
* tar & adhesive remover (first time I've cleaned this particular car)
* pressure rinse
* aqua wax and dry
* glass inside and out

You can use a 50/50 mix with water and you get a good foam you can work with. For Gillette, use a 50/50 mix with hot water.

I have aqua wax but to honest have not used it much. I will give it a go tomorrow though.
Daft really, I have the full autoglym 'protect and shine' kit I got with another car when I had life shine done, but tend to use zymol shampoo and polish

Foam Lance hasn't turned up yet, so that will be next week

Oh, I have a follow on question since you know about this stuff. Is the aqua wax what dealers apply when they apply life shine ?

Life shine is bullshit. It's just the same autoglym cleaning products you get elsewhere but marketed to folks that buy a used car, kidding them on their car will stay clean forever for an extra £150 detailing session
All they will use is a carnauba wax (autogym HD wax) to finish and you can get that in many forms from £2 to £4000 depending on your budget for what is really just snake oil. I use autoglym HD wax from time to time but find the aqua/express wax does as good a job.  2010 FF 4.4 TDV8 Vogue - Gone

I agree it's mostly BS, but have to say the car looked the dogs when they had applied it, and it still does. I've not had to clay it as there are simply no tar or resin spots on it at all.
I wanted to get my hands on the same stuff they used as it was so good.

The other thing to fix is our hard water, so considering buying a 0ppm filter to use for the rinse.
Going to try the aqua wax first though, see how it does without it  Too many toys, not enough time

The only supposed benefit of snow foam is that it’s touchless - i.e. you’re trying to remove dirt without inflicting swirls. My experience is that it’s only of real use on a car which is already properly waxed or sealed - otherwise it just isn’t aggressive enough to lift any dirt.

The stuff that actually does remove dirt is commercial-style traffic film remover, but that’s far too aggressive to use on good paint, finished wheels, metal trim etc.

Correct.. the snow foam will only remove a light coat of dirt from a well waxed surface. If you let the dirt build up it will leave a film that needs sponged away. TFR traffic film remover will remove this with just a spray and rinse but is aggressive to use frequently, ideally you'll need to wax if you use that. Instead of TFR, you can spray a good coat of snow foam and sponge the film off, keep cleaning the sponge.. the foam acts like shaving foam and lubricates hopefully causing less swirl marks.

If you keep on top of the cleaning, keep using the express wax after each wash, do your tar and adhesive and or clay bar once a month, wash a couple times a week.. it's a losing battle for sure, but if you like a clean car... 2010 FF 4.4 TDV8 Vogue - Gone

Not a chance. Every couple of weeks is closer

The new snow foam Lance turned up today, so I gave it a go.not impressed to be honest, but it may be operator error.
I followed the directions on the bottle that says 1 to 2" of solution in bottle and top off with warm water.
This equated to 300ml in 1litre bottle, so a 1::2 mix, not the 1::1 mix you guys suggested.
I think this was the problem, as the foam was not very thick and not very clingy.
I tried the Lance on max to min settings but the pic below was the best I could get. This was taken a minute or so after it was sprayed on.
