hatchback button

Just a quick question, when I press the button on the key fob to release the hatch lid is it supposed to completely release? ie after pressing the button on the fob I still have to press the microswitch to release the hatch which makes pressing the fob pointless!

I think that the idea of the key switch is so that you can put shopping into your boot without unlocking the rest of the car - once pressed you can open the boot but when you close it - it re-locks, no other lock is opened.

On my 2011 model, I'm pretty sure pressing the fob button releases the upper tail gate, and I just pull it up. No need to press the upper release button. As Bruno points out, it only unlocks the tailgate though, not the rest of the doors, and the tailgate is re-locked when you close it.

I would then need to press the second button to release the lower tailgate though if I want that down.

my 2012 is like Paul's ^^..

press and the tailgate unlocks and jumps up a little allowing you to just lift it to put shopping in etc..

the rest of the FF stays locked..

close the tailgate and it automatically locks and the indicators flash to confirm.. ... - .- -.

My 2010 upper tailgate lifts off the lock so that you can open it without having to press the micro switch.....
My 2008 didn’t.
I assume the gas struts were starting to fail on my 2008. 2011 TDV8 4.4 AB Bournville Brown
