But this morning it didn't do anything. I guess that after not using the car for 3 days it decides that the battery voltage is/will be too low if it carries on the auto cycle so decides to stop working.

Its an Engine pre-heater the cabin heating is an added benefit in a fullfat.

Being pedantic, it's the coolant that is being heated. not the "engine". The main mechanical parts of engine, and the oil won't get anywhere near their operating temperature. |
